Delete Your Alt Chat Account

We are sorry to see you go.

If you want to delete your Alt Chat account, you can request account deletion directly inside the app.
If you cannot access the app, you may also contact support and request deletion manually.


How to Delete Your Account in the App

To delete your Alt Chat account from inside the app:

  1. Open the Alt Chat app.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Go to your Profile or Settings page.
  4. Select Account or Account Settings.
  5. Choose Delete Account.
  6. Follow the instructions to confirm your account deletion request.

Once your deletion request is confirmed, your account will be removed or scheduled for deletion.


If You Cannot Access the App

If you cannot log in, cannot access the app, or need help deleting your account, you may send a message to Alt Chat support.

Please include:

  • Your Alt Chat username
  • The email address connected to your Alt Chat account, if available
  • The words: Delete Account

Example message:

Subject: Delete Account
Message: Please delete my Alt Chat account. My username is [your username].

What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted

When your Alt Chat account is deleted, we will delete or deactivate your account and remove personal account information associated with your profile, where required and reasonably possible.

This may include:

  • Your profile
  • Your username
  • Your photos
  • Your bio and profile details
  • Your account settings
  • Your messages or chat data, where deletion is technically available

Data We May Need to Keep

Some information may be kept for a limited time if needed for legal, safety, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, payment records, abuse prevention, or platform protection reasons.

For example, we may keep limited records if they are needed to investigate safety reports, prevent banned users from returning, comply with legal obligations, or protect Alt Chat and its users.

We do not keep this information longer than necessary for those purposes.


Processing Time

We aim to process account deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible.

Manual support requests may take additional time because we may need to verify that the request is coming from the account owner.


Important Notes

  • Deleting the app from your phone does not automatically delete your Alt Chat account.
  • Deleting your account may be permanent.
  • Some content shared with other users may no longer be visible from your account, but copies may remain where legally or technically necessary.
  • If you purchased a subscription or paid feature through an app store, you may also need to cancel it through that app store.
