Alt Chat Terms and Conditions

1. About Alt Chat
Alt Chat is a dating and social community app for the alternative scene — goth, emo, punk, metal, scene, cosplay, and gaming communities.
Alt Chat includes profiles, discovery, chat, community feeds, groups, chat rooms, Night Chats, games, Watch Parties, profile ratings, and compliments.
By using Alt Chat, you agree to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Alt Chat.
By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally able to agree to these Terms.
We may suspend or remove accounts that misrepresent age.
3. Your Account
You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login access secure, and not share, sell, or transfer your account.
You are responsible for activity on your account.
Create only one personal account and do not impersonate any person or entity.

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms.
Violating them can lead to content removal, restrictions, or account termination.
6. User Content
You keep ownership of your content.
You grant Alt Chat permission to use, display, host, store, copy, modify, and distribute your content as needed to operate, promote, improve, and provide the service.
You confirm that content you post is yours or properly licensed, and that it does not violate anyone else's rights or the law.
7. Content Moderation
Alt Chat may review, remove, restrict, or refuse content at any time.
We may do this if we believe content violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, the law, or the safety of the platform.
We are not required to monitor every user or every piece of content, but we may take action when we believe it is necessary.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users.
Reports are reviewed promptly — normally within 24 hours — and violating content is removed and responsible accounts may be restricted or banned.
Every profile, chat, post, and room includes report and block options.
8. Dating and Meeting Other Users
Alt Chat helps people meet, chat, flirt, date, and make friends.
We do not conduct background checks and do not guarantee compatibility, safety, matches, or outcomes.
You are responsible for your own interactions with other users.
Please use caution when sharing personal information or meeting someone in person.
Alt Chat is not responsible for the actions, behavior, statements, or content of users on or off the platform.
9. Paid Features, Subscriptions, and Purchases
Alt Chat offers paid features such as VIP subscriptions, coins, boosts, and spotlight placements.
Prices, features, and availability may change at any time.
Paid features may be subject to additional terms shown at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise required by law, digital purchases are non-refundable once used, activated, delivered, or made available.
Purchases made through Apple's App Store or Google Play are also subject to those platforms' payment and refund terms.
Auto-renewing subscriptions: Alt Chat VIP subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel an active subscription.
10. Third-Party Links and Services
Alt Chat may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites and services, such as embedded YouTube videos, GIPHY, app stores, and payment processors.
We are not responsible for third-party content, services, or terms.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy at alt-chat.com/privacy explains what information we collect and how we use it, and is part of these Terms.
12. Account Suspension or Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, the law, or the safety of other users.
Accounts used for spam or abuse may be removed.
You may delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by contacting support.
13. Intellectual Property
Alt Chat's name, branding, design, and software are owned by Alt Chat and protected by law.
You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
14. Prohibited Technical Activity
You may not scrape, harvest data, reverse-engineer, decompile, use bots or automation, probe or exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the operation or security of Alt Chat.
15. No Guarantee of Availability
Alt Chat is provided without guarantees of uptime or availability.
Features may change, break, or be discontinued at any time.
16. Disclaimer
Alt Chat is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement.
17. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alt Chat and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service or your interactions with other users.
18. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alt Chat and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
Continuing to use Alt Chat after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to Alt Chat and its business operations, unless another law is required to apply.
21. App Store Terms
If you downloaded Alt Chat from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement also applies, and Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
Purchases through the App Store or Google Play are subject to those platforms' terms.
