Safety First
Your safety matters on Alt Chat.

Alt Chat is a place to meet people, flirt, chat, make friends, date, and connect with people who understand alternative culture, gaming, music, cosplay, anime, and creative self-expression.

Online connections should always move at your pace. This page explains our safety standards, community rules, and how users can report unsafe behavior.

1. Adults Only
Alt Chat is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Alt Chat.

If you believe someone on Alt Chat is under 18, do not continue the conversation. Please report the account immediately.

Any attempt to exploit, sexualize, contact, groom, manipulate, or endanger minors is strictly prohibited.

2. Child Safety Standards / CSAE Policy
Alt Chat has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation, including child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexualization of minors, attempts to contact minors for sexual purposes, sextortion, trafficking, coercion, or any content or behavior that exploits, endangers, or harms minors.

Users may not upload, share, request, promote, discuss, distribute, or encourage any content involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.

Users may not use Alt Chat to identify, contact, pressure, manipulate, groom, exploit, threaten, or endanger minors in any way.

If Alt Chat becomes aware of content or behavior involving child sexual abuse or exploitation, we may remove content, restrict features, suspend or ban accounts, preserve relevant information where legally appropriate, and report the matter to appropriate authorities or child safety organizations as required by applicable law.

Alt Chat provides blocking and reporting tools so users can report suspected underage users, grooming, exploitation, harassment, illegal content, fake profiles, threats, or unsafe behavior.

Users can also contact Alt Chat directly for child safety, abuse, exploitation, or CSAM-related concerns.

For urgent safety concerns, please include as much detail as you safely can, such as the username, profile details, messages, screenshots, dates, and a description of the concern.

3. Move at Your Own Pace
You never have to rush a conversation, share personal details, send photos, meet in person, or move to another app before you feel ready.

If someone pressures you, guilt-trips you, threatens you, or makes you uncomfortable, that is a warning sign.

You are allowed to say no. You are allowed to stop replying. You are allowed to block and report someone.

4. Protect Your Personal Information
Be careful about sharing private information with someone you just met online.

Avoid sharing your home address, workplace, school, phone number too quickly, financial information, legal documents, passwords, login codes, exact location, or private photos you would not want shared.

Even if someone seems sweet, attractive, or trustworthy, take your time.

5. Watch Out for Scams
Scammers can appear on dating apps, social apps, and community platforms.

Be careful if someone asks for money, claims they have an emergency, wants gift cards, crypto, bank transfers, or payment apps, tries to move the conversation off Alt Chat immediately, sends suspicious links, offers investments or prizes, avoids proving who they are, or says they love you very quickly.

Never send money to someone you have only met online.

6. Keep Login Codes Private
Alt Chat staff will never ask for your password, verification code, banking information, or private login details.

Do not share one-time codes with anyone. If someone asks for a code, they may be trying to access your account.

7. Photos, Videos, and Screenshots
Only share photos or videos you feel comfortable sharing.

Do not send intimate, private, or revealing images to someone who pressures you or who you do not fully trust.

Never share someone else’s private photos, videos, screenshots, messages, or personal information without permission.

Private content should stay private.

8. Consent Matters
Flirting should be mutual.

Do not send unwanted sexual messages, explicit images, repeated romantic pressure, or private content without consent.

If someone says no, stops replying, changes the subject, blocks you, or seems uncomfortable, respect that immediately.

Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

9. Harassment, Hate, and Threats Are Not Allowed
Alt Chat does not allow harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, impersonation, stalking, intimidation, or behavior meant to scare, shame, exploit, or pressure another person.

If someone is harassing, threatening, or targeting you, please block and report the account.

10. Fake Profiles and Impersonation
Do not pretend to be someone else, use another person’s photos without permission, create fake identities to deceive people, or misrepresent who you are.

Alt Chat may remove fake profiles, impersonation accounts, scam accounts, or accounts that mislead or harm other users.

11. Meeting in Person
If you decide to meet someone from Alt Chat, take safety steps.

Consider meeting in a public place, telling someone you trust where you are going, keeping your phone charged, arranging your own transportation, avoiding private homes for a first meeting, leaving if anything feels wrong, and not relying on the other person for a ride home.

You do not owe anyone your time, attention, affection, or physical closeness. If you feel uncomfortable, leave.

12. Trust Your Instincts
If something feels off, take it seriously.

You do not need proof that someone is dangerous before protecting yourself.

Warning signs may include pressure, anger when you say no, invasive questions, guilt-tripping, requests for money or favors, refusing boundaries, threats, or acting different from what their profile says.

Your comfort matters.

13. Blocking and Reporting
If someone makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, harassed, pressured, or threatened, use the block and report tools.

Report harassment, threats, hate speech, fake profiles, scams, impersonation, sexual harassment, requests for money, underage users, grooming, exploitation, dangerous behavior, or illegal behavior.

Reports help keep Alt Chat safer for everyone.

14. What Alt Chat May Do After a Report
Alt Chat may review reports and take action when safety rules are broken.

Depending on the situation, Alt Chat may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, ban users, preserve relevant information where legally appropriate, or report serious safety concerns to appropriate authorities or child safety organizations as required by applicable law.

15. If You Feel Unsafe
If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.

If something happened on Alt Chat, report the account and include as much detail as you safely can.

Useful details may include the username, profile information, screenshots, messages, dates, and a description of what happened.

Alt Chat is here to help people connect, not to make anyone feel trapped, pressured, or unsafe.

You control who you talk to, what you share, when you reply, whether you meet, and when a conversation ends.

You are allowed to protect your peace.
